Uttarakhand is many time referred as 'Devbhoomi'. Its a very new state been formed in year 2000. There are many deities, temples of  religious importance, diversified wild life, and a number of hill stations that creates interests of tourists to visit Uttarakhand again and again. Adventure lovers can take a break and climb some easy to difficult treks (Har ki Doon trek- easy, Roopkund treck- Difficult), or they can enjoy river rafting (Rishikesh), tourist having interest in spiritual & religious places come here to take a dip in holy Ganga river, or to do a Char Dham Yatra (Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath & Badrinath), one can experience wild life in Jim Corbett national park or Rajaji National park, clear view of snow cladded Himalayan peaks are visible from most of the hill stations.

Major places of tourist interest in Kumaoun:

• Treks: Pindari Glacier Trek, Milam Glacier trek.
• Adventure activities: Rappelling, rock climbing, river crossing, camping & bird watching, forest safari. Adventure activities are available at Jim Corbett National Park & Mukteshwar.

How to reach:

To access Kumaoun region:

Major base will be Kathgodam. Kathgodam is well connected with Railways and Buses from Delhi. The distance is only 250 Kms so one can hire a cab or can self drive his own vehicle, how ever above kathgodam its a hilly terrain so people with expertise in driving can only drive comfortably.

To access Garhwal region:

Dehradun or Haridwar will be the base station to cover Garhwal. Both the stations are well connected by railways and buses from Delhi, the distance is again around 250-300 Kms so one can also hire a cab or self drive his own vehicle, however above Dehradun and Rishikesh hilly terrain starts and only people with expertise will be comfortable in driving.
